Sunflower Almanzor

Stable Yields via the Clearfield System

The French hybrid Almanzor by Euralis Semences is engineered for farms operating in high-pressure environments where weed management and phytosanitary risks are primary concerns. By utilizing the Euro-Lightning (Clearfield) production system, farmers can achieve superior control of broadleaf and grass weeds, including broomrape, with a simplified herbicide strategy.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

With a vegetation period of 110-120 days, this medium-early hybrid fits perfectly into diverse crop rotation schedules, allowing for predictable harvesting windows. Euralis has prioritized genetic resistance, providing a robust defense against major crop threats. Choosing Almanzor reduces the reliance on intensive fungicide programs, as the hybrid possesses high natural tolerance to:

• Alternaria;
• Phomopsis;
• Powdery mildew;
• Downy mildew.

Field Performance and Application

Practical application in the field demonstrates that Almanzor reaches its full potential when the recommended plant density for the specific micro-climate is maintained. The primary advantage for the agronomist is the ability to leverage post-emergence herbicide applications without risk to the crop. This makes it an ideal candidate for fields with historically high weed pressure, ensuring the crop remains free of competition from emergence until maturity, which ultimately protects the yield potential and simplifies the harvest process.
