The Soybean variety Yuzanka is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety developed at FGБNU «Volzhsky SSI» and adapted to the contrasting natural and climatic conditions of the forest-steppe of the Samara Volga region. It has been included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation for the Middle Volga region and recommended for cultivation in the Samara region. The variety's vegetative period lasts about 102 days, classifying it as an early-maturing group, with an early flowering time. The plants are of indeterminate growth type, low-growing, with a height of about 57 cm and a lower pod attachment height of 16.6 cm. The flower is white, the lateral leaflet is pointed-ovate, and the main stem has gray pubescence. There is no anthocyanin coloration on the hypocotyl; the seeds are yellow with a yellow hilum, and the mass of 1000 seeds is 122 grams.
Yuzanka is distinguished by high yield and seed quality. The average yield in the region is 12.1 centners per hectare, while the maximum yield reached 21.3 centners per hectare, recorded in the Bezenchuk GUS of the Samara region. In variety trials, grain yield averaged 17.3 centners per hectare, which is 3.3 centners higher than the standard. Protein content in seeds reaches 29.2%, and fat content is 25.3%, ensuring high protein and fat output per hectare—564.7 kg and 467.0 kg, respectively.
The Yuzanka variety is suitable for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, especially in the Samara region, due to its adaptability and resistance to local climatic conditions. Its early maturity and high productivity make it a profitable choice for agricultural enterprises focused on producing high-quality soybeans with high protein and fat content. These characteristics contribute to the wide application of the variety in food and feed industries.
