Sanrock — a mid-early sunflower hybrid from IFAGRI, specifically developed for cultivation using the Express technology. This hybrid is characterized by high yield potential, reaching up to 5.8 tons per hectare of biomass and an actual yield of approximately 4 tons per hectare. Plants reach a height of 150–170 cm, have a flower head diameter of 15–18 cm, a 1000-seed weight of 53–59 g, and exhibit high oil content ranging from 48–52%.
The Sanrock hybrid demonstrates high resistance to various diseases, including phomopsis, verticillium, flower head and stem sclerotinia, as well as to new strains of downy mildew. It also shows good resistance to lodging, which helps maintain yield under adverse conditions. Sanrock possesses cold and drought tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation under various soil-climatic conditions, particularly in regions with moderate sunflower cultivation.
For optimal development, it is recommended to follow a planting density of 45–55 thousand plants per hectare and avoid overcrowding. The maximum single application rate of the herbicide Express is 50 grams. All these characteristics make the Sanrock hybrid a reliable choice for farmers seeking high and stable sunflower yields with good oil content.
