Sanay MR (Sanay MR) sunflower hybrid from Syngenta is a mid-early maturity variety adapted for cultivation in moderate and moisture-deficient zones such as the Southern Steppe and the Azov region. It features high drought tolerance and stable yield even under drought conditions, making it a leader among extensive-type hybrids. Sanay MR exhibits high growth rates during the early stages of organogenesis and shows plasticity to sowing dates, enabling effective use under various agronomic conditions. The hybrid is highly resistant to major diseases such as downy mildew and sclerotinia, and is tolerant to soil herbicides of the imidazolinone and acetochlor groups. This provides reliable plant protection and contributes to maintaining yield. It is recommended to avoid growing Sanay MR in farms with high infection risk of Sclerotinia, as the hybrid is not intended for such conditions. The seed material is treated with a fungicide and additionally with the insecticide Cruiser, enhancing protection against pests and diseases during early growth stages. The oil content of the hybrid is 47–49%, ensuring high oil production efficiency. Optimal plant density varies depending on moisture levels: 40–43 thousand plants per hectare in moisture-deficient zones and 45–47 thousand in moisture-sufficient zones. Sanay MR is suitable for cultivation using zero-till and minimal tillage technologies, which reduces agronomic costs and preserves soil structure.
