Sunflower NS H 256 — a simple oil hybrid developed in Serbia for efficient cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppes, forest-steppes, and meadows. It features high tolerance to the herbicide Granstar (ExpressSun® technology), enabling higher application rates for more effective weed control. The hybrid is also resistant to the Russian wheat aphid (tolerance to 5 parasite races A–E), making it a reliable choice for regions at higher risk of infestation.
NS H 256 plants reach a height of approximately 170 cm, have a slender, convex head with a diameter of 18–22 cm. The maturity period is 120–125 days, ensuring timely harvest. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 5 tons per hectare, with oil content in seeds ranging from 50–52%, and protein content of 16–18%. The thousand-seed weight is about 70 grams, and the seeding unit weight is 10–13 kg. A fungicide seed treatment is recommended for seed protection.
Due to low sensitivity to adverse abiotic factors, NS H 256 seeds demonstrate high growth rates early in the vegetative stage, contributing to the formation of strong and productive plants. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation using the "SUMO" technology, which involves application of herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, further enhancing crop protection efficiency and ensuring stable high yields.
