Lux is an early-maturing sunflower variety characterized by high adaptability and plasticity, enabling successful cultivation under various climatic conditions in Ukraine. The vegetation period of the variety is 100-105 days, and the time from sowing to the beginning of flowering is approximately 55 days. Plants reach a height of 175-185 cm, and the flower head diameter varies from 24 to 26 cm. The flower head shape is slightly convex with a downward tilt, which promotes optimal seed development. The variety is characterized by high oil content — 44.4%, and a huskiness of about 20%. Lux exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including fusarium, phomopsis, gray and white mold, rust, false powdery mildew, and sunflower moth. Additionally, the variety demonstrates high drought tolerance, lodging resistance, shattering resistance, and good winter hardiness. Thanks to these qualities, Lux ensures a stable and high yield even under adverse conditions. The potential yield of the variety reaches 34 centners per hectare, while the average yield over test years is approximately 24.5 centners per hectare. The Lux variety is recommended for cultivation with optimal planting density: 40-45 thousand plants per hectare in the forest-steppe zone, and 35-40 thousand in the steppe zone. It responds well to the application of mineral and organic fertilizers, which contributes to increased productivity on various soil types. High-oil seeds of this variety are suitable for agricultural purposes and provide good yields in the range of 2000-3000 kg per hectare, making Lux a profitable choice for farmers aiming for stable and quality sunflower production.
