Description MEY KING
MAY KING lettuce is a mid-season head lettuce variety that matures 60-65 days from full emergence to harvest. This variety has a semi-erect leaf rosette, reaching a height of about 18 cm and a diameter of 25 cm. The head has an oval, open, and loose shape, weighing up to 400 grams. The leaves are inversely obovate, light green in color with a smooth surface and even edge, possessing an oily texture and excellent taste. The presence of bronze plating along the leaf edges adds additional decorative appeal.

This variety is characterized by good cold hardiness, which allows for early cultivation under film. May King prefers fertile, loose, and sufficiently moist soils with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. For successful growth, a temperature range of 15-20°C is optimal. Cultivation is possible both by seedling and non-seedling methods, with sowing in the open field from spring to summer at a depth of 0.5-1 cm.

Care for the lettuce includes regular watering, soil loosening, weeding, and fertilization, which contributes to a high yield of up to 3.9 kg per square meter. Heads are cut at the root as they ripen. Thanks to its marketable and taste qualities, as well as ease of cultivation, the May King variety is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers seeking to obtain high-quality and delicious lettuce.
