Description VINAR
VINAR is an annual oilseed crop belonging to the aster family, known as dyer's safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.). The plant reaches a height of 80 to 132 cm, has straight branched stems with flower heads in the form of corollas at the ends. The vegetative period is 90–105 days, and sowing is carried out in the spring – in April and May.

Safflower is characterized by high drought resistance and good seed yield: according to the competitive variety trial, it can produce up to 16.3 c/ha, while the mass of 1000 seeds is about 29.8 g. The seeds have a shelliness of 94% and dehullability of 32%, which makes them suitable for mechanized cultivation and subsequent oil production.

Oil from safflower seeds contains almost 40% fat and 15.8% protein. It is widely used in cooking (for frying, salad dressings), as well as in the production of margarine, varnishes, and paints that do not yellow over time. The cake after pressing serves as valuable fodder for domestic animals and birds, while the petals of the plant contain a natural dye used in the food industry and in the manufacture of natural paints. Moreover, safflower is a universal source of nectar, providing a yield of up to 100 kg of honey per hectare.
