Rapeseed Ranok Podillya

Breeding and Development

"Ranok Podillya" is a winter rapeseed variety developed by the Vinnytsia State Agricultural Research Station (UAAS). The primary focus of this breeding program was to achieve a robust equilibrium between cold resistance and vigorous autumn development. This technical profile makes the variety highly predictable for farmers working within the fluctuating climate zones of Ukraine.

Key Technical Specifications

• Winter Hardiness: The variety exhibits a high level of genetic frost resistance. It is engineered to withstand sharp temperature drops, which is a critical success factor for regions with high agricultural risk.
• Vegetative Architecture: The plant structure is optimized for efficient sugar accumulation in the root neck before dormancy, which is essential for surviving winter conditions without compromising the growing point.
• Harvest Efficiency: The variety maintains uniform maturity across the field, allowing for precise combine harvester settings and significant reduction in seed shattering losses during the harvest period.

The practical advantage of "Ranok Podillya" lies in its agronomic plasticity. Unlike highly specialized hybrids that require strictly controlled nutrition and input regimes, this variety demonstrates reliability across varying levels of soil fertility and management intensities. It serves as a consistent solution for producers looking to mitigate risks without over-complicating crop management strategies.
