DRAGO is a hybrid of a new generation spring rapeseed, developed as a result of many years of breeding work. It belongs to the medium-early group and is characterized by a combination of high yield and medium plant height, which is especially important when growing under conditions of sufficient moisture and when using high doses of mineral fertilizers. Thanks to its plasticity, the hybrid is successfully grown both in areas with sufficient and insufficient moisture. A feature of DRAGO is its high resistance to lodging, which makes it suitable for cultivation in regions with strong winds and heavy rainfall. This resistance is achieved through an optimal balance of height, yield, maturation time, and plant structure.
The hybrid belongs to the 00-type, that is, it is erucic acid-free and low glucosinolate, which improves the quality of the resulting raw material. It is recommended for growing in various regions of Russia, including the Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, Western Siberia, and Eastern Siberia. The average yield in the Volga-Vyatka region reaches 11.5 centners per hectare, which is 1.7 centners above standard indicators. The fat content in seeds varies from 41.2 to 45.0%, indicating the high quality of the oilseed raw material.
Rapeseed DRAGO seeds have a small irregular round shape and can be various shades from gray-black to yellow-brown. They contain 40 to 45% oil, 18-22% protein, as well as fiber and phospholipids. Natural antioxidants, such as tocopherols (vitamin E), phenolic compounds, and tannins, as well as chlorophylls, are present in the seeds. Due to the reduction of erucic acid content to trace amounts, the hybrid seeds are safe and suitable for food and technical use. Enzymes that facilitate the effective processing of raw materials are also present in the composition of the seeds.
