PRIMULA (FLEUR DE PRINTEMPS)

Primula 'Fleur de printemps' – a perennial plant of the Primulaceae family, valued for its bright flowers and ease of care. The adult plant grows to about 15 cm in height, and its flowering period lasts from April to May and in September. This makes it an ideal choice for creating living fences, flowerbeds, and compositions both in open ground and in shade.

To successfully grow 'Fleur de printemps', choose locations with moderate lighting: partial shade during midday hours is best. Plants prefer loose, nutrient-rich soil capable of retaining moisture without stagnation. On clay soils, their growth is limited; if necessary, structure can be improved by adding sand, vermiculite, or sphagnum moss and by applying organic fertilizers (manure, compost). Regular feeding with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers during the vegetation period supports flowering.

Care for 'Fleur de printemps' includes moderate watering – especially in spring, when plants need a large amount of moisture. When transplanting and propagating, division of bushes, seeds, or rooting of axillary shoots can be used. Seeds are sown from November to December at a temperature of 16–20 °C with high humidity; after seedlings emerge, conditions are gradually reduced. Division of bushes is best performed in August so that new plants have time to root before the onset of cold.
