Primula Yuiusha

NBS Hryshko Selection: Aesthetics for Your Garden

Primula 'Yuyusha' is the result of years of breeding work by the M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Officially registered in 2026, this variety is a prime example of a decorative crop adapted to the climatic conditions of the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions. 'Yuyusha' is designed for those who seek expressive individuality rather than mass-market products in landscape design.

Visual Profile and Flowering Features

The main distinction of this variety lies in its bush architecture. The plant forms a compact, low rosette, above which the inflorescences rise effectively. Unlike many other primula varieties, 'Yuyusha' features a pronounced leaf texture: a strongly wrinkled leaf blade with wavy and slightly curled edges gives the bush volume even during the dormant period. The absence of gloss and pubescence makes the plant look soft and natural.

• Flower stalks: Upright, with moderate anthocyanin coloration, creating a pleasant contrast with the foliage.
• Inflorescences: A semi-spherical umbel type with short but dense stalks.
• Flowers: Large, simple, with long pedicels, adding lightness and airiness to the inflorescence.

The variety is intended for private decorative use. Thanks to its resilience to the climate of northern and central Ukraine, 'Yuyusha' is a reliable choice for alpine gardens, borders, or container compositions. The medium density of the rhizome allows the plant to thrive in the soil without requiring complex maintenance.
