Pomegranate "Nyutinsky" – an early-ripening variety with universal purpose. The small tree grows slowly, has a round flat canopy of medium density, branches depart from the trunk at a right angle and are compactly arranged. The bark is dark gray, shoots are thin, straight, green, and leaves are small, lanceolate, dark green, shiny and smooth with a whole edge.
Fruits are of medium size (about 220 g), round, slightly flattened, without a rib. Skin is of medium thickness, smooth and shiny, basic coloration is red-carmine. Inside are dark red seeds, juicy and tasty with an acid-sweet shade, without noticeable aroma. Sugar content in fruits is 14.5 %, acidity 2.0 % and vitamin C – 9.5 mg.
The variety is characterized by high drought resistance, heat resistance and frost hardiness (passed tests at -12.4 °C without damage). It is undemanding regarding soil, tolerates various growing conditions well and is resistant to fungal diseases and mite damage. Fruiting is annual, yield reaches 110 c/ha. Fruits can be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated place for 1–2 months. It is recommended to plant in spring or autumn; sapling age – one-year-old, open root system.
