NS H 2649 — a medium-early simple sunflower hybrid of Serbian selection, developed for cultivation using the 'Sumo' or 'Express' technologies with the herbicide Granstar based on tribenuron-methyl. This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to a wide spectrum of weeds, including perennial sow-thistle, ensuring effective weed control and contributing to increased yield.

The plant is characterized by good adaptation to various soil-climatic conditions, including arid regions, due to high drought resistance. The vegetation period is 104-109 days, plant height reaches 160-180 cm, and the root system is well-developed, contributing to stability and productivity. The recommended planting density varies by region: for forest-steppe — 55-60 thousand plants per hectare, for central steppe — 50-55 thousand, for southern and dry steppe — 45-50 thousand.

The hybrid has a high yield potential of up to 5.5 tons per hectare and high oil content in seeds — 48-50%. Seed moisture content is 22-24%, 1000-seed mass — 60-70 grams. NS H 2649 is resistant to major sunflower diseases, including fusarium, fusarium wilt, rust, downy mildew, alternaria, false powdery mildew, and rust (5-7 races). These characteristics make the hybrid a reliable choice for effective and stable sunflower production under various climatic conditions.
