LS SUNPRISE

LS SUNPRISE hybrid sunflower is a mid-season, high-yielding variety developed by the Serbian breeding company NS Seme and registered in the State Register of Ukraine in 2021. Plants have a vegetation period of 108–113 days, height of 160–170 cm, and flower head diameter of 21–25 cm. Seeds have an elongated shape, black husk color, and 1000-seed weight of 70–75 g. The root system is well-developed, and the stem is strong and covered with stiff hairs, providing resistance to lodging and shattering.

LS SUNPRISE exhibits high resistance to eight strains of downy mildew (A-G+), as well as sulfonylurea herbicides, making it a reliable choice for various agronomic conditions. The hybrid shows enhanced resistance to diseases and pests, as well as drought tolerance, enabling stable yields even in areas with insufficient moisture. High ecological plasticity and competitive ability ensure its adaptability to different climatic conditions.

The primary use of this hybrid is for oil production. Seeds contain 49–50% oil components with a husk content of 21–23%, allowing the production of high-quality oil, including high-oleic oil when using imidazolinone-based production systems. Seeds are treated with fungicides, and the package contains 150,000 seeds, sufficient for sowing on 2.2–2.5 hectares.
