Peony The Mystery of Chersonesos

Commercial Cut Flower Potential

The «Zahadka Khersonesu» (Mystery of Chersonesus) peony is a breeding achievement from the M.M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden, designed for both commercial floriculture and landscape design. Its late-season bloom (June 16–30) makes it a strategic choice for growers looking to extend their market presence when most other varieties have already finished blooming.

Practical Management and Applications

• Cut Flower Production: The double (bomb-type) raspberry-colored flowers possess high structural integrity, allowing them to withstand transport while maintaining excellent visual appeal. This makes it a reliable asset for wholesale supplies to florists.
• Garden Decor: Characterized by sturdy stems, the variety is highly valued for professional landscaping, providing strong, self-supporting flower heads that serve as focal points in garden layouts.

For optimal production results, it is recommended to cultivate this variety in nutrient-rich, well-drained soil. In a professional farming setup, maintaining correct planting density is vital to prevent fungal issues during the late June rainy spells. Regular phosphorus and potassium fertilization during the budding stage is essential to ensure maximum vase life, which is a key requirement for retail logistics. The variety is well-adapted to local climatic conditions, ensuring consistent yield even in intensive farming scenarios.
