Calendula GOLDEN SEA

Working with 'Zolotoye More' (Golden Sea) Calendula

When producing raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry, consistency is everything. 'Zolotoye More' by VILAR is a variety that has earned a reputation for reliability.

Operational Performance

From an agronomist's perspective, the key advantage of 'Zolotoye More' is its structural integrity. The plants maintain a compact, upright form, which prevents lodging even after heavy rains. This is a massive benefit for harvesting—whether you are using specialized equipment or manual labor, you deal with less biomass waste and cleaner yield.

Key Cultivation Insights

• Germination: The seeds show robust vigor, emerging reliably even in cooler spring conditions. This reduces the need for costly reseeding.
• Maintenance: The variety is not demanding in terms of heavy fertilization. Proper weed control during the early rosette stage is the most critical task to ensure the plants establish well.
• Harvest window: With an extended flowering period, 'Zolotoye More' provides enough flexibility to manage harvest logistics effectively, avoiding the typical rush of early-maturing varieties.

As the developer, the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (VILAR) has ensured that the secondary metabolites meet pharmacopoeial standards. For a grower, this means a product that is highly valued by processors. The drying process is straightforward, and the yield of high-quality flower heads remains stable, which is crucial for calculating the bottom line.

In terms of disease management, 'Zolotoye More' is resilient under proper crop rotation, significantly reducing the necessity for fungicide applications. If you are looking for a predictable, high-yielding crop that fits well into a standard field routine without requiring exotic maintenance protocols, this variety is an excellent choice.
