Melon Konquista

Agrotechnical Guidelines for Growing Conquista F1

The Conquista F1 hybrid, developed by Enza Zaden (Netherlands), represents a high-performance Ananas-type melon. Achieving maximum yield potential requires strict adherence to specific cultivation practices tailored for intensive farming.

Seedling Management and Planting

For optimal results, use the transplanting method. Seedlings should be 25–30 days old before being moved to the field. Planting must only occur once soil temperatures reach at least +15°C at a depth of 10 cm. The recommended spacing is 1.4–1.6 meters between rows and 0.5–0.6 meters between plants, resulting in a density of 10,000 to 12,000 plants per hectare. This spacing is essential to ensure adequate airflow and light penetration.

Soil Requirements and Irrigation

Conquista thrives in well-drained, light sandy loam or loamy soils with a neutral pH (6.0–7.0). Drip irrigation is the industry standard for this hybrid. During the active growth phase, consistent moisture is vital. However, irrigation should be reduced or stopped approximately two weeks before harvest to concentrate sugars and prevent fruit cracking.

Nutrient Management by Growth Stage

• Vegetative Stage: Focus on nitrogen application to support robust leaf development.
• Flowering and Fruit Set: Transition to potassium-heavy fertilizers to promote fruit formation and quality.
• Fruit Maturation: Supplement with calcium and boron to improve skin strength and shelf life.

Registered in Ukraine in 2026, this hybrid is designed to withstand environmental stressors, making it a reliable choice for professional growers looking to optimize their production cycles.
