Ermak

ERMACK is a variety of oilseed flax (Linum usitatissimum L. var. intermedia Vav et Ell.), characterized by mid-maturity and a modified fatty acid composition. Plants of this variety are low-growing, with a height of about 45 cm, which ensures convenience in agronomy and reduces the risk of lodging. The variety is distinguished by high processability and resistance to adverse conditions: resistance to lodging is rated at 5 points, to shattering at 4.5, and to drought at 4 points. The vegetative period ranges from 90 to 105 days, which allows for cultivation in various regions, including the Middle Volga and North Caucasus.

Seeds of the ERMACK variety contain a significant amount of fat - from 40% to 48.3%, while the fatty acid composition of the oil is balanced: linoleic and linolenic acids are present in a ratio of approximately 1:1, each about 38%, and oleic acid is about 19%. Such a combination ensures high biological value of the oil, which ranks among the first among edible vegetable oils in terms of its beneficial properties. The oil of this variety has an iodine number of about 179.7, which indicates its quality and stability.

The ERMACK variety is not affected by diseases and is characterized by high yield - an average of 16.5 centners per hectare in recommended cultivation regions. Thanks to its characteristics, it is promising for expanding the production of flaxseed oil as a valuable renewable raw material resource. Cultivation of this variety is economically justified and contributes to increasing the competitiveness of domestic oilseed flax varieties adapted to the conditions of various regions of Russia.
