Nertus 271 MV

Nertus 271 MV — a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn, developed by the Ukrainian breeding company LLC Nertus Agro and registered in the State Register of Hybrids and Varieties of Ukraine in 2019. This hybrid belongs to the mid-maturing group with a maturity unit of FAO 260-270 and a vegetation period of 107-110 days. It is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone, where it demonstrates high adaptability and stable yields.

Nertus 271 MV plants reach a height of 230-270 cm, possess a strong root system and a sturdy, elastic stem, ensuring resistance to lodging. The ears are cylindrical or slightly conical, with 16-18 rows of kernels, each row containing 38-40 tooth-shaped yellow-orange kernels. The average 1000-kernel weight is 250-270 g. The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to drought, diseases, and pests, including the main pathogens of corn diseases such as gray leaf spot, helminthosporiosis, and fusarium.

Nertus 271 MV is intended for dual use — for grain and silage. Its potential dry grain yield exceeds 110 ц/га, and silage yield exceeds 450 ц/га. The recommended plant density before harvest is 65 тыс./га for grain and 75 тыс./га for silage. The hybrid responds well to agronomic practices, enabling maximum realization of its productive potential in the forest-steppe zone.
