Artenyo sweet corn is a simple hybrid with high yield potential, developed based on Austrian genetics. This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to lodging and adverse weather conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield in various climatic zones. Artenyo has a strong stalk and excellent ear attachment, which further enhances its stability and reduces losses during harvest.
Artenyo corn ears are distinguished by excellent row alignment and high kernel density. Each ear contains 480 to 640 kernels arranged in 16–20 rows with 36–40 kernels per row. The kernels are dent-shaped, with a 1000-kernel weight ranging from 360 to 420 grams, containing 73.9% starch and 8.9% protein, making this hybrid attractive for various applications.
Recommended growing regions include western, central, north-eastern, and southern regions of Ukraine. Seeding rates depend on soil moisture: under optimal conditions, 70,000–75,000 seeds per hectare are recommended; under suboptimal conditions, 60,000–65,000 seeds per hectare. In 2021, yields ranged from 100 to 141.2 centners per hectare, confirming the high productivity and adaptability of the Artenyo hybrid.
