Description Symphony
The Symphony potato is a medium-late, table-type variety of Dutch origin, developed by the company HZPC Holland B. V. This variety is characterized by high yield and good adaptability to various soils and climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in the Central region of Russia and other areas with a mild climate. The plants are tall and upright, forming 8 to 11 oval-shaped tubers per cluster, with smooth surfaces, weighing from 70 to 140 grams. The tuber skin is red, while the flesh is light yellow, giving them an attractive appearance.

The maturation period of this variety ranges from 100 to 120 days, allowing harvest in the medium-late season. The yield of Symphony varies from 200 to 460 centners per hectare, reaching a maximum of 612 centners under optimal conditions. The tuber commercial quality is high — from 81 to 92%, and storability reaches 95%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. The variety has excellent taste qualities: the tubers cook well and are ideal for making mashed potatoes and other dishes requiring a flaky texture. The starch content in the flesh ranges from 13% to 19%, making the potato suitable for processing, such as for crispy potato chips.

Symphony requires fertile soils and thorough soil preparation before planting, including fertilization and plowing. The plants respond well to additional watering and fertilizer application, which helps increase yield. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to late blight, so regular preventive treatments and crop rotation are necessary to prevent disease. The potato is suitable for mechanical harvesting and shows resistance to mechanical damage, which simplifies cultivation and harvest.
