Secura potato is a medium-early table variety included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region. The plant features a medium-sized bush with a red-purple flower and stem base. Tubers are elongated, with smooth yellow skin and yellow flesh, small eyes, and a weight ranging from 59 to 150 grams. Starch content in the tubers varies from 13.0% to 18.2%, slightly higher than the standard for the Nevsky variety. Taste is rated as good to excellent, and marketability reaches 79–96%, matching the level of standard varieties.
The Secura variety is characterized by high yield, ranging from 195 to 323 centners per hectare, with a maximum recorded yield of 365 centners per hectare in the Oryol region, significantly exceeding standard varieties. The potato is resistant to several diseases, including cancer and potato nematode, and exhibits weak susceptibility to leaf curl virus, "U" and "A" viruses, late blight, scab, and iron-streaked spotting. These traits make this variety a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
Secura is suitable for diverse culinary preparations, including boiling, frying, and making mashed potatoes. Due to its characteristics, it stores well and maintains its market appearance during transport and storage. Seed material of this variety is recommended for planting in gardens or vegetable plots, allowing for a stable and high-quality harvest within 80–90 days after planting.
