The potato variety Verdi is a medium-maturing table variety with a vegetation period of 80 to 95 days, recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia. Plants have an upright or semi-upright growth habit with medium to large-sized leaves of light green hue. Tubers are round in shape with medium-depth eyes, covered with yellow skin, and have cream-colored flesh. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 83 to 118 grams, with starch content of 15.2-16.2%, making the variety suitable for various culinary uses, including soups, frying, and chip production. The yield of Verdi is high: average marketable yield is 278-283 centners per hectare, with maximum reaching 312 centners. Tubers' marketability ranges from 81-88%, and storability reaches 96%, indicating good product preservation during storage. The variety has good taste and belongs to the culinary type AB, confirming its versatility in kitchen use. Verdi exhibits high resistance to several common potato diseases. It is resistant to potato cancer, golden nematode, crinkly and striped mosaic, and leaf curl virus. Additionally, the variety shows moderate resistance to leaf and tuber phytophthora and virus Y, with moderate susceptibility to virus L. Standard agronomic practices are recommended for cultivation, facilitating its growing and ensuring stable yields.
