Early Harvest

Potato variety 'Sкороплодный' is an early-maturing table variety developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Potato Growing named after A.G. Lorha. The plant is medium-height, upright, with medium-sized light-green leaves. Tubers have oval-round shape, yellow smooth skin and small eyes. The weight of one marketable tuber ranges from 62 to 128 grams, and the flesh is white. The maturity period is 70-80 days, allowing for an early harvest.

The variety 'Скороплодный' has high and stable yield: marketable yield reaches 140-266 centners per hectare, and maximum yield can reach up to 351 centners per hectare. Tubers form uniformly, with 9-11 tubers per plant. Starch content ranges from 12.4% to 17.4%, slightly lower than some standards, but tuber taste is rated as good. Culinary type BC makes this variety versatile for various cooking methods, including soups, frying, baking, and boiling.

The variety has good storability — about 88% — ensuring long-term storage without significant quality loss. 'Скороплодный' is resistant to potato cancer pathogen, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and has low to moderate resistance to late blight of foliage and tubers. The main advantage of the variety is uniform early yield and good taste, making it popular for cultivation in the Central region.
