Owacja (Owacja) — a new high-yielding early-maturing variety. Successfully passed state variety trials and was included in the Ukrainian Variety Register for 2009. Unlike Typhoon, this variety matures earlier, has even higher marketability, forms even more large-sized tubers, is highly resistant to virus Y, but not resistant to golden potato nematode. This circumstance must be taken into account when cultivating this variety on plots infested with this dangerous pest. It is recommended to grow it only as a young early potato on such plots. This variety is not intended for long-term storage. Its slightly lower resistance to leaf late blight is compensated by its early maturity: the variety manages to "escape" the outbreak of this disease. Taste qualities are slightly inferior to Typhoon, but remain high.
The tubers of the Owacja variety are large, yellow, with yellow flesh, having a proper round-oval shape and rather small eyes.
