Rufus

Red cabbage variety 'Rufus' is a mid-season hybrid with a vegetative period of about 90-95 days. The heads are round and weigh between 1.5 to 2.5 kilograms. They are covered with a waxy coating and have a deep purple color, giving them an attractive appearance. The leaves of this variety are softer compared to most red cabbage varieties, making Rufus especially valuable for fresh consumption.

The variety is characterized by good resistance to cracking and overripening, allowing the cabbage to maintain its marketable appearance in the field until harvest. Harvesting occurs from August to October, although the cabbage does not store well and is primarily intended for fresh consumption. Due to its density and quality, Rufus is excellent for cultivation in open ground, as well as under plastic coverings, which expands its cultivation possibilities.
