Post-emergence systemic herbicide for the eradication of annual broadleaf and perennial rootstock weeds on sugar beet crops
Active ingredient: cloquaril, 750 g/kg
Manufacturer: Peters and Burg Ltd., Hungary
Formulation: water-soluble granules
Packaging unit: 500 g
Mode of action
Penetrates the plant through the above-ground parts and partially through the root system from moist soil. Rapidly translocated throughout the plant to growth points, where it blocks meristematic cell division. As a result, both above-ground and root systems of weeds die, including vegetative renewal buds of rootstock weeds. Growth of sensitive weeds stops within 2 hours after application. First visible signs of herbicide effect on weeds appear on day 5-8 after application, complete weed death occurs within 10-15 days. Unfavorable weather conditions for plant development (low temperatures, drought) slow down the herbicide’s action and manifestation of visible signs.
Application recommendations
Crop growth stage
sugar beet — stage 1-3 true leaves;
cereal grasses — during tillering to stem elongation;
winter and spring rape — stage 3-4 leaves;
Application timing of cloquaril on other crops
maize — stage 3-5 leaves;
white cabbage — after transplanting seedlings;
flax — 'elk' stage.
Weed growth stage
Maximum herbicide efficacy is observed when applied during early weed growth stages: stage 2-6 leaves for annual broadleaf weeds and rosette stage for perennial broadleaf weeds.
Weather conditions
Average daily air temperature at application should be between +12°C and +25°C. Cool weather conditions (average daily temperature below +12°C) delay visible signs of herbicide action and may reduce its efficacy against weeds. Application when crops are under stress (drought, frost, pest or disease damage, etc.) may reduce herbicide efficacy on weeds and increase the risk of crop toxicity regardless of crop development stage.
Presence of dew or rain within 6 hours after application of SONHUS significantly reduces its efficacy on weeds.
Application method
Apply via ground spraying at a rate of 200-300 L/ha. In high-temperature conditions (air temperature above +20°C), the recommended application rate should be increased to 400 L/ha. Full and even coverage of weeds with the working solution is mandatory.
Compatibility with other pesticides
This product is an ideal component for synergistic tank mixtures with other broadleaf herbicides (betaine group) and cereal herbicides. However, compatibility and phytotoxicity of each tank mixture component must be tested in advance.
Preparation of working solution
Fill the sprayer tank to 3/4 volume, activate the mixing mode, and add the required amount of product. Top up the tank to full volume while the mixing mode is active. The mixing mode must remain active during application to maintain uniformity of the working solution.
When applying this product in tank mixtures with other products, dissolve the product first, then add the partner component to the working solution.
