In modern farming, winning the battle against weeds starts before the crop even emerges. When working with canola, soybeans, or sunflower fields, I rely on "Komandir" by Ukravit. As a pre-emergence herbicide, it acts as a reliable shield that keeps the soil clean during the most critical growth stages.

Field Performance

The core of this product is clomazone, a systemic herbicide that effectively targets problematic weeds like common lambsquarter, shepherd's purse, and black nightshade. Because it is a selective herbicide, it manages to suppress competitive weeds without harming the crop when applied at the correct rates. In my experience, the key to its success is moisture; when the soil has proper hydration, the product works consistently to block chlorophyll formation in emerging weeds, causing them to bleach and wither before they can compete with the crop.

Practical Tips for Application

• Efficiency: A dosage of up to 0.5 l/ha is sufficient to ensure high efficacy while keeping costs under control.
• Application Timing: This is strictly a pre-emergence tool. Timing is everything to maximize its residual activity.
• Usability: The emulsifiable concentrate formulation mixes well in spray tanks. As a hazard class 3 product, it is manageable with standard PPE and safe handling practices.

Managing fields with "Komandir" has simplified my workload significantly.
