Description
Mid-early ripening variety, obtained at the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection from crossing of varieties African x Souvenir. Developed by O.V. Kurashev. Under state variety testing since 2009.
Medium-sized bush, slightly spreading, closer to compact. Stems of medium thickness, slightly curved, green, hairless. Thorns on stems are strong, present along the entire length of the stem, medium length, thin, weak, single and double, arranged perpendicularly to the stem, light-colored.
Leaves of medium size, light green, slightly hairy, with smooth surface, concave. Teeth blunt, long, not curled. Leaves five-lobed, lobes with deep indentations. Base of leaf with deep notch. Tips of lobes sharp.
Flowers medium-sized, with bright coloration. Sepals of medium length and width, bright-colored, moderately hairy on the outer side, curled upward. Ovule bare, oval, without ridges.
Berries of medium size (average weight 2.7 g, maximum 5.5 g), round, light green, with dark red spots on sun-exposed side, merging into a large, blurred, irregular spot, one-dimensional, hairless, with waxy coating. Few seeds, thin skin. Receptacle open, short, green, thin. Flavor sweet, dessert-like (4.9 points), with raspberry taste. Chemical composition: total sugar content — 14.4%, titratable acidity — 1.4%, ascorbic acid — 46.0 mg/100 g. Berries intended for table use.
Highly winter-hardy (however, in some years, freezing of vegetative and mixed buds in the upper part of stems may occur), moderately drought-tolerant, average yield 7.0-12.0 t/ha, characterized by good self-fertility and resistance to American powdery mildew.
Advantages of the variety: resistance to powdery mildew, high fruit flavor quality.
Disadvantages of the variety: thorniness of stems.
