Medium-ripening variety, obtained at the VNIIS named after I.V. Michurin from crossing the varieties Bedford Yellow and Hautton. Developed by M.I. Kashchikina. Since 1965, it has been included in the State Register of Selection Achievements approved for use in the Central Chernozem region.
The bush is vigorous, weakly spreading, medium density, with medium branching. Growing shoots are medium, slightly curved, green, glabrous. Woody shoots are thin and medium, light-colored. Thorns on shoots are strong. Thorns are mostly double and triple, medium length, thin, straight, matte, dark-colored, positioned perpendicularly or directed downward, distributed along the entire length of the shoot, except for the apical nodes. Buds are elongated, small, with a pointed apex, dark, glabrous, slightly deviated. Leaf scar is round-shaped.
Leaf is medium-sized, dark green, shiny, glabrous, smooth, medium density, slightly concave. Teeth are short, blunt, slightly curled. Coloration of main veins is absent. Leaf is five-lobed, lobes with medium indentations. Central lobe is blunt-tipped, short, slightly exceeds lateral lobes, its lateral edges are slightly rounded or cut straight to the base. Lateral lobes are medium-length, broad, rounded, angle between veins of lateral lobes is acute. Basal lobes are weakly developed, veins are spreading. Base of leaf is straight or slightly notched, angle between leaf blade base and petiole is straight or acute. Petiole is medium length, thin, with sparse glandular pubescence in the middle, positioned at 45° angle to the shoot.
Flowers are small, flattened, pale. Sepals are oval-round, pale, with anthocyanic "streak" at base, free, positioned horizontally during flowering. Inflorescence is single or two-flowered. Ovule is slightly pubescent.
Berries are above average size (4.0-5.4 g), round or round-oval, bright yellow, glabrous or with very sparse glandular pubescence, covered with weak waxy bloom. Many seeds. Skin is firm, with strong venation, medium-branched veins, yellow, lighter than main coloration. Taste is sour-sweet, rating 4.0 points. Receptacle is large, full, closed or half-open. Peduncle is medium length and thickness, cylindrical, green. Chemical composition: total sugars — 9.2%, titratable acidity — 2.0%, ascorbic acid — 11.8-40.0 mg/100 g. Berries are of universal use.
Variety is winter-hardy, average yield 14.0 t/ha (4.2 kg/plant), relatively resistant to American powdery mildew.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, ease of propagation, and good commercial berry qualities.
Disadvantages of the variety: thorniness of branches, frost damage in severe winters.
