Advantages
• High systemic activity allows the product to quickly move to root and stem growth zones.
• With a specific mechanism of action on weed enzyme systems, it affects weeds within a few hours.
• No restrictions on crop rotation; rapidly degrades in soil, with a half-life of 6 days.
• Can be used in tank mixes with various fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides, but compatibility should be checked.
• High efficacy against the most damaging broadleaf weeds.
Mechanism of Action
Alpha-Maïs stops weed cell division by affecting their enzyme system. In sensitive weeds, it causes growth cessation, chlorosis, death of growth points, necrosis, and total death. Acts primarily through the leaf surface of plants. Visible symptoms appear 2–3 days after application. Death of sensitive weeds may take 10–20 days.
Properties
Best results are achieved at early weed development stages: 2–4 leaves (annuals), rosette (perennials).
Spectrum of activity: Sensitive — Veronica (species), chickweed (species), common sowthistle, nettle (species), common chickweed, Teophrastrum cantharis, yellow rocket (species), common marshmallow, sunflower (2–4 leaves), portulaca oleracea, wild radish, daisy (species), cowslip, violet (species), large-flowered bugloss, common nettle (species), field wormwood, common spurge, medicinal cranesbill, sorrel (species), common nettle, common chickweed, common fennel, large-flowered bugloss, wild carrot, ragwort, common ragwort.
Moderately sensitive — field bindweed and yellow bindweed, medicinal wormwood, wild poppy, common marshmallow, common yellowweed, Ambrosia arborescens (2 leaves), large-flowered bugloss, common henbane, annual goosegrass, large-flowered bugloss, white goosegrass.
Resistant and less sensitive — field maple, milkweed (species), small-flowered galinsoga, black nightshade.
General Recommendations
Not recommended for use on parent lines of corn, sweet corn, and popcorn. Do not use in tank mixes with organophosphorus insecticides.
Do not apply within 14 days before (or after) treatment with organophosphorus insecticides. Do not treat crops during stress periods (cold or hot weather).
