Darnel TEANNA

Field Strategy: Stress Adaptation

The Italian-bred 'Teanna' fenugreek hybrid demonstrates high plasticity in unstable climatic conditions. Registered in Ukraine in 2026, this hybrid is designed for intensive cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. The primary focus during its development was physiological resistance to extreme temperatures, allowing the crop to maintain vegetative activity even under significant moisture deficit.

Resistance and Phytosanitary Status

• Heat Tolerance: 'Teanna' effectively regulates transpiration, minimizing moisture loss during the hot, dry winds typical of southern regions.
• Lodging Resistance: The stem system possesses high structural integrity, which is critical during maturation under conditions of heavy rainfall or wind.
• Disease Resistance: The hybrid's genetic foundation provides a robust barrier against major pathogens common to fenugreek in the Steppe/Forest-Steppe zones, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications.

Choosing 'Teanna' for farms in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones is a commitment to yield predictability. The hybrid shows a stable growth rate, successfully navigating the weather fluctuations of the spring-summer period. Due to its high adaptability to Ukraine's soil and climatic conditions, the variety delivers excellent results when standard agronomic practices are followed, ensuring uniform stand density and high nutritional value of the biomass.
