Currant Titania

TITANIA black currant variety is a Swedish hybrid, characterized by high yield and excellent berry quality. Medium-height bushes (about 1.4 meters) with vertically oriented branches have vigorous vegetative growth and an upright form. Berries are large, dark black with shiny, firm skin, dry detachment, and do not drop after ripening. Ripening begins in early July and continues for most of the month, allowing for gradual harvest. Berries have a wine-sweet flavor with a distinct aroma, making them ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for making compotes, kisels, jams, and freezing.

The TITANIA variety exhibits high resistance to powdery mildew and other fungal diseases, as well as good winter hardiness and adaptability to various climatic conditions. Additionally, the variety demonstrates excellent resistance to spring frosts, ensuring stable fruiting even under adverse weather conditions. These characteristics make TITANIA a reliable and low-maintenance choice for gardeners seeking high-quality, abundant harvests.

For successful cultivation of TITANIA black currant, choose sunny or semi-shaded areas with well-drained, fertile soil. Planting holes (30-40 cm deep and wide) should be filled with compost or manure to improve soil structure. After planting, ensure the root collar is positioned at soil level, carefully compact the soil, and provide regular watering, especially during dry periods. In spring, feed the bushes with universal fertilizers to stimulate growth and fruiting, and in autumn, prune to remove old and damaged branches and shape the bush correctly.
