GSS 3071 is a mid-season SH2-type (super sweet) corn hybrid developed by breeders from Syngenta Seeds in the Netherlands. The plant reaches a height of up to 2.5 meters and features a high ear position on the stalk, which facilitates harvest collection. The hybrid's vegetative period is approximately 77-80 days, allowing for a stable yield in a relatively short time. The hybrid is undemanding regarding cultivation conditions and develops well under standard agronomy, making it suitable for various climatic zones and conditions.
GSS 3071 corn ears are cylindrical, 22-25 cm long with a diameter of about 5 cm, containing 16-18 rows of large, dense, and full bright yellow kernels. Ear weight varies from 200 to 300 grams. Kernels have high sugar and nutrient content, ensuring a rich taste and high sugar content. Thick dark leaves reliably protect kernels from heat and damage, ensuring good shelf life and transportability over long distances.
The GSS 3071 hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to a wide range of diseases, including bacterial wilt, corn rust, helminthosporiosis, dwarfing virus, and yellow mosaic, and is also resistant to Bm / Ps pathogens: (Rp1-d), Ps (Rp1-i), Pst, and MDMV: A. Due to these qualities and high yield potential (12-18 tons per hectare or 1-2 ears per bush), the hybrid is widely used for processing, fresh market sales, and culinary purposes, meeting the needs of farmers, processors, and end consumers.
