Cucumber Twinfit

Why Twinfit is a Professional's Choice

In the segment of smooth-skinned cucumbers, the Twinfit hybrid from the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan occupies a unique niche. The main value of this variety lies in its phenomenal plasticity: it performs equally well in controlled-environment glass greenhouses and under traditional open-field conditions.

Agronomic Advantages

The key differentiator of Twinfit compared to most competitors is the combination of an elegant, smooth fruit appearance with robust immunity. Smooth cucumbers are often temperamental, but this hybrid was bred to minimize crop loss from pathogens. Its genetic resistance to Cladosporium and Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV) allows farmers to significantly reduce expenditure on fungicides and insecticides, making the produce more eco-friendly and attractive to retailers.

Key Specifications and Yield

• Type: Smooth cucumber with a rich, dark green color.
• Stress Resistance: High resistance threshold against Powdery Mildew, one of the most significant threats to vegetable crops.
• Application: Optimal for farms targeting the fresh market segment, where premium appearance without spines is highly valued.

Twinfit requires minimal labor for plant management, reducing overhead costs. While it is highly resistant, the hybrid's performance in open-field conditions can be affected by extreme temperature fluctuations; thus, it is best utilized in protected environments or southern climates. If you are looking for predictable outcomes and stable yields with excellent taste, Twinfit is a reliable asset for your agricultural business.
