Cucumber Socrates F1

Reliable Productivity in Glasshouses

For professional greenhouse producers targeting early market entry, the Socrates F1 cucumber by Enza Limited offers a predictable and highly efficient solution. This parthenocarpic hybrid is engineered specifically for glasshouse conditions, where climate control and yield per square meter are the primary economic drivers.

Key Operational Advantages

• Generative Growth Habit: The plant directs its energy primarily toward fruit set, which streamlines canopy management and reduces pruning labor costs.
• Fast Maturation: With harvest typically beginning within 45–50 days, growers can precisely plan their production cycles and market supply.
• Premium Fruit Quality: The smooth, dark green fruits, ranging from 15–20 cm in length, feature excellent shelf life and durability during transport, meeting the high standards of modern retail chains.

Disease Resistance and Efficiency

Managing pathogens in high-humidity indoor environments is a constant challenge. Socrates F1 provides robust resistance to cladosporium and powdery mildew. Its innate tolerance to cucumber mosaic virus and olive spot (scab) significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, thereby lowering input costs and promoting a cleaner production cycle. By selecting this hybrid, agronomists gain a reliable tool for consistent production in intensive glasshouse settings, ensuring that quality remains high even throughout the peak of the season.
