Cucumber Rocky F.1 is a medium-early, bee-pollinated hybrid with partial parthenocarpy, maturing in 40-44 days after germination. The plant is strong, medium-height, well-leafed and moderately branched, with predominantly female flowering. The root system is powerful, ensuring good adaptation to various substrates. Leaves are medium-sized, dark green, and form 1-2 fruits at each node, contributing to high yields up to 11 kg per square meter.
The fruits of cucumber Rocky are cylindrical, 10-12 cm long and 3.5-4 cm in diameter, weighing 85-120 grams. Their surface is large-bumpy with sparse white spines, green in color with a slight matte finish and very short stripes with minor mottling. The flesh is dense and crisp, without bitterness, ensuring excellent taste. The cucumbers are transportable, uniform, and retain their firmness even after thermal treatment.
The hybrid exhibits comprehensive resistance to major diseases such as olive spot, root rot, true powdery mildew, and cucumber mosaic virus. Rocky is versatile in application, perfectly suitable for cultivation in open ground and under plastic coverings, as well as for pickling and salting due to its high salting qualities. For successful cultivation, follow agronomic practices including sowing seeds 2-3 cm deep under plastic or transplanting seedlings aged 20-25 days after soil warming to 10-12°C. Plants are shaped by pinching above the third leaf, and care includes regular weeding, watering, and feeding, especially with organic fertilizers.
