Cucumber 'Epilog F1'

The common cucumber 'Epilog F1' is a medium-early, bee-pollinated hybrid developed by the Transnistrian Research Institute of Agriculture and approved for use since 1993 in the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions. The plant is medium-height, with a main stem length of 110–130 cm and weak branching. Leaves are pentagonal, dark green, and the fruit is cylindrical with sparse black hairs. The hybrid is known for its uniform fruiting, allowing harvest of fruits 40–50 days after mass emergence.

The 'Epilog' cucumber fruits are conical, 9–12 cm long and 3–5 cm in diameter, weighing between 72 to 108 grams. The fruits have medium ribbing and complex black and brown hair coverage. The flesh is crisp and aromatic, ensuring excellent taste qualities both fresh and preserved. The hybrid is especially valued for its high marketability and is suitable for pickling and canning. The overall taste evaluation of pickled cucumbers is 4.6 out of 5.

'Epilog' cucumber is resistant to false powdery mildew and bacterial disease, and has relative resistance to angular leaf spot, although it may be affected by powdery mildew. It is recommended for cultivation in open ground in spring and summer, as well as in spring plastic greenhouses. The hybrid is intended for commercial production and demonstrates high yield, significantly exceeding standards, making it a profitable choice for farmers and gardeners.
