Ekol F1

Ekol F1 cucumber is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid of cornichon type, developed by the Dutch seed company Syngenta Seeds. This variety is characterized by high yield and versatility. The fruits are cylindrical, 8 to 12 cm long and 60 to 110 g in weight, with a length-to-diameter ratio of approximately 3:1. They are dark green with white spines, firm, crisp, and juicy, without a bitter taste, making them ideal for fresh consumption, pickling, and preservation. The fruits have a small seed cavity and excellent internal structure that remains intact even after marination. Ekol F1 plants are compact with short internodes and produce 4 to 8 fruits of varying ages per node due to their bouquet-type flowering. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major cucumber diseases, such as cucumber mosaic virus, powdery mildew, and olive spot, ensuring a stable and reliable harvest. Plants recover well from stress and are suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses, including vertical cultivation on trellises. The period from germination to fruiting begins at 37 to 45 days, enabling early harvest. Recommended planting density is 2–3 plants per square meter. Average yield reaches 100–120 tons per hectare, confirming the hybrid's high productivity.
