F1 Captain — a bee-pollinated, high-yielding bush hybrid with female flowering, suitable for cultivation in open ground, spring greenhouses, and tunnels. Branching is limited. Cucumbers are of cornichon type, large-noded, white-tipped, 8-12 cm long, with very high salt tolerance. Developed for barrel pickling, as well as for canning mini-cucumbers in jars. Forms 2-5 to 8-10 fruits per node, with sequential fruit set. DISTINCTIVE FEATURE: slow fruit growth, significantly reducing the risk of overgrowth during sparse harvests. With good pollination, nearly all fruits develop into cucumbers, with few aborted flowers. Resistant to olive spot, cucumber mosaic virus, tolerant to powdery mildew and false powdery mildew. Plant 10% pollinator alongside. Pollinator seeds are included in each hybrid packet.
Planting density in open ground: 3.5-4.5 plants/m2, in greenhouses: 2.5-3.0 plants/m2.
