Cucumber Asker F1

Technological potential of Asker F1: a professional choice for greenhouses

The parthenocarpic hybrid Asker F1 by Bejo is a specialized solution for protected ground, focused on producing premium-class commercial goods. The plant's architecture is based on a pronounced vegetative growth type, requiring precise climate control and a balanced fertilization scheme to prevent excessive foliage at the expense of generative processes.

Fruit morphology and market quality

The fruit length varies between 15–20 cm, making this hybrid optimal for fresh market sales. The light green skin color and distinct large-wart structure ensure a recognizable appearance favored by retail chains. Due to the genetically determined density of the flesh, these cucumbers demonstrate excellent shelf life during transport.

Phytosanitary resistance and crop protection

Bejo's breeding strategy focuses on minimizing chemical interventions. High resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora) is a critical factor for greenhouse cultivation, where high humidity often catalyzes infections. Furthermore, the hybrid possesses complex immunity against several pathogens:

• Cladosporiosis (olive leaf spot) — a key problem during temperature fluctuations.
• Powdery mildew — protecting leaves from fungal growth.
• Viral diseases (including mosaic viruses) — critical protection against productivity drops in early stages.

Using Asker F1 significantly reduces fungicide load, simplifying the production of environmentally safe goods and cutting operational costs.
