Corn variety "Temp" is a cultivated plant originating from a wild grass that originally grew in Mexico and Central America. This corn variety does not exhibit high frost resistance, although it can partially withstand low temperatures during early growth stages. For successful seed germination, the optimal temperature ranges from +12 to +15°C, and for sowing, it is from +8 to +10°C. It is important to consider the biological minimum and optimum temperatures at different growth stages of the plant to ensure high yields and quality corn development. In Ukrainian agriculture, corn occupies a significant area of cultivated land. As of mid-May, approximately 3.5 million hectares have been sown, which accounts for 87% of the planned volume. Despite delays caused by lower temperatures and precipitation, corn sowing continues, especially in regions such as Poltava, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, and Kyiv oblasts. These figures underscore the importance of corn as one of the main cereal crops in the country's agricultural sector. During storage and preparation, corn variety "Temp" requires special attention to the grain drying process. The working agent temperature in grain dryers varies depending on quality and productivity requirements. There is an opinion that the optimal drying temperature should not exceed 120-135°C, as higher temperatures may deteriorate grain quality. However, increasing the temperature can boost productivity and reduce fuel consumption per unit. To preserve grain quality during high-temperature drying, special methods are recommended to avoid damage and retain the nutritional properties of corn.
