Palmira F1 is a medium-maturing super-sweet hybrid of sweet corn with a vegetation period of about 84–90 days. Plants reach a height of 180–202 cm, forming cylindrical, dense ears 17–22 cm long and weighing 175–350 g. Kernels are bright yellow, long, and sugary, with sugar content up to 26% and dry matter content around 29%. Due to the thin white core of the ear and high kernel density, the corn has a rich sweet flavor and juiciness, making it ideal for fresh consumption, canning, and freezing.
The Palmira F1 hybrid is characterized by high yield and resistance to major corn diseases such as helminthosporiosis and gray leaf spot. The plant has good storability — up to three months — and high resistance to lodging, ensuring crop preservation and quality during transport and storage. Ears form at a height of 60–65 cm above ground, facilitating harvesting and reducing damage risk.
For successful cultivation, Palmira F1 should be sown in open ground when soil temperature is not lower than 10–14 °C, with optimal sowing time from mid to late May. Sowing can be done directly into the soil or through seedlings, transplanted after night frost threats. Plants require sunny locations with loose, well-heated soil; seed depth is 3–5 cm. For better pollination, it is recommended to plant corn in squares or blocks. During ear formation, regular watering and fertilization with nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus are necessary, along with weeding and soil loosening to ensure adequate oxygen supply. Under these conditions, Palmira F1 provides a stable and high-quality yield that retains its flavor and quality for a long time.
