MAS 53B

The MAS 53B corn hybrid is a mid-late maturing universal variety, intended for producing high-quality grain and silage. It exhibits the highest yield potential within its maturity group and shows stable high yields even when grown in monoculture. The plants feature a large leaf canopy and a strong stem resistant to lodging, which helps preserve the yield under adverse weather conditions. The hybrid pollinates well and forms ears with 14-16 rows of dent kernels, with up to 420-576 kernels per ear, ensuring high productivity at harvest.

MAS 53B is adapted for cultivation in regions with a mild climate and long growing season, and it demonstrates high resistance to stress factors including drought and temperature fluctuations. Under adequate moisture and fertile soils, a second ear may form, further increasing yield. Flowering occurs after accumulation of approximately 10,000 °C of growing degree-days, ensuring timely maturity and high grain quality.

MAS 53B seeds are produced by the French seed company Mas Seeds and belong to the mid-maturing hybrid group with FAO 330. The grain has a dent kernel type, characteristic of this variety and conducive to good threshing at harvest. The hybrid is suitable for both conventional and minimal soil tillage, simplifying agronomic practices and enhancing the economic efficiency of cultivation.
