Field Performance of KWS Kinemas Hybrid

When it comes to stable grain production, KWS Kinemas has proven to be a predictable and reliable choice. This simple hybrid, featuring a dent grain type, shows excellent moisture release during maturation. With a growing period of 120–140 days and an FAO range of 90–1240, the hybrid requires careful harvest planning, but the consistency of the yield justifies the effort.

Agronomic Resilience

From a field operator's perspective, the resistance of Kinemas to common pathogens is its strongest advantage. When sowing in high-humidity conditions or fluctuating temperatures, it successfully resists the most damaging crop threats:

• Helminthosporium;
• Fusarium ear rot;
• Common smut.

This durability helps reduce unnecessary expenditure on fungicides, which would be mandatory for less resilient varieties.

Planting Density and Yield Management

We adjust planting density based on soil moisture levels. In fields with good water availability, we aim for 70,000–75,000 plants/ha to maximize grain output. In drier conditions or areas with lower fertility, we find that 60,000–65,000 plants/ha is the optimal sweet spot. The plant exhibits a strong, sturdy stalk with minimal lodging, which is vital for efficient mechanical harvesting—the header runs clean with minimal harvest losses.
