Maize KM 2220

Focus on grain productivity: the KM 2220 advantage

Selecting the right hybrid for grain production is a matter of balancing yield potential with local climatic resilience. The KM 2220 corn hybrid, developed by the Ukrainian brand 'Rasava', is a specialized solution for farms focused on high-quality commercial grain with reliable moisture-loss characteristics.

Agronomic profile and field application

KM 2220 performs consistently under intensive farming conditions, where precise stand density and timely agronomic practices are the primary drivers of success. Practical application of this hybrid is ideal for operations that prioritize:

• Streamlined harvest schedules, minimizing the time grain stays in the field and reducing drying costs.
• Resilience in regions with moderate moisture, where early-stage stress tolerance is vital for crop establishment.
• High-intensity moisture loss during the grain filling and ripening stages, simplifying harvest logistics during the peak season.

Using this hybrid allows agronomists to establish a clear production cycle, from precise sowing to a clean harvest before adverse autumn weather begins. The uniformity of the cobs also makes combine harvester calibration easier, significantly reducing mechanical losses.

Practical cultivation insights

To fully realize the genetic potential of KM 2220, we recommend employing standard soil cultivation practices tailored to local soil fertility. The hybrid shows a strong positive response to mineral fertilization, particularly during the generative phase of development. Strategic pest and weed control in the first half of the growing season is essential, as this creates the foundation for the final grain yield.
