Hybrid sugar corn GK 288 is an intensive mid-early variety with a hard kernel type, intended for high-quality grain production. It has a vegetation period of 100–110 days and plant height of 250–300 cm. The grain is yellow, with a 1000-grain weight of 290–320 g. Ear attachment height ranges from 85–115 cm, and the average number of kernels per row reaches 41–46, with 14–18 rows per ear. The hybrid is characterized by its early maturity and high yield, which in production conditions ranges from 7.5 to 10.0 t/ha, and on variety trial plots reaches 12.2 t/ha at grain moisture of 21.4%. One of the key advantages of GK 288 is its high resistance to Helminthosporium, ensuring reliable yield even under adverse conditions. The hybrid demonstrates excellent drought and frost resistance, rated at 9 points, as well as high resistance to lodging (8 points) and stress tolerance (8 points). Rapid water release allows effective use of the hybrid for reseeding winter crops, making it an optimal choice for various climatic zones with different moisture levels. The recommended seeding density at harvest is 65–70 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 60–65 thousand plants per hectare in poorly watered zones. GK 288 seeds are treated with fungicides and insecticides, providing additional protection against diseases and pests. Due to its combination of high productivity, stress resistance, and adaptability to different growing conditions, hybrid GK 288 is a reliable and effective solution for obtaining high yields of sugar corn.
