Maize General

German Excellence in Maize Genetics

KWS has long been a benchmark for excellence in the European seed market, and the «General» maize hybrid is a testament to the company’s focus on robust field performance. Developed with the specific goal of maximizing reliability, this hybrid caters to farmers who need a consistent, high-yielding crop that can withstand various environmental stresses and pathogen pressures throughout the growing season.

Defensive Profile and Disease Resistance

One of the primary advantages of the KWS «General» hybrid is its comprehensive defensive genetic profile. In an era where disease pressure significantly impacts profit margins, having a hybrid that is naturally resilient to key threats is a major economic asset. «General» provides strong tolerance against:

• Helminthosporium leaf blight;
• Fusarium (cob and stem rot);
• Stalk smut;
• Common corn smut.

This inherent genetic resistance allows producers to optimize their fungicide application schedule, reducing production costs while maintaining crop integrity and ensuring top-tier yield quality.

Versatility: Grain and Silage Utility

The «General» hybrid is engineered to offer flexibility, making it a valuable addition to diverse farm operations. It excels in two key usage scenarios:

1. Grain Production: The hybrid is recognized for its favorable grain moisture dry-down, which helps decrease post-harvest drying costs.
2. Silage Utility: Known for its substantial biomass accumulation and high nutritional digestibility, it is an excellent choice for dairy and livestock producers focused on high-quality forage production.

A Trusted Choice

Choosing a KWS product means relying on decades of German breeding expertise. «General» is positioned as a workhorse hybrid that performs reliably across various soil types and management practices. It is a strategic choice for agricultural professionals who demand consistency from their planting investment. By prioritizing yield stability and health, KWS «General» continues to solidify its reputation as a preferred solution for modern farming operations.
