Corn DKS 4897 is a mid-late hybrid with a dent type kernel, characterized by a healthy and strong stalk, as well as a robust root system. This hybrid forms a large number of rows of kernels — from 20 to 22 — contributing to high yield, reaching up to 110 c/ha. Due to its high resistance to stalk and ear diseases, as well as resistance to fusarium, DKS 4897 ensures a stable and high-quality harvest even under challenging growing conditions.
The hybrid is recommended for all soil types except sandy soils and is suitable for cultivation both for grain and silage. It demonstrates high adaptability and drought resistance, as well as good water shedding and cold tolerance. The soil temperature for sowing should not be lower than 9°C. The recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: 65-70 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, 60-65 thousand under unstable conditions, and 50-55 thousand under insufficient moisture. Under irrigation, a higher density is permissible — up to 80-90 thousand plants per hectare.
DKS 4897 exhibits high resistance to monoculture and can withstand prolonged stand, making it a versatile and reliable choice for various agronomic systems. The hybrid responds well to high levels of mineral nutrition and can be grown using traditional, minimum, and no-till soil management technologies. The seed package contains 80 thousand seeds, which is convenient for planning sowing operations.
